Bird Sightings Map

Use it.

Birders around the world use eBird, maintained by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, to record their bird sightings. Through eBird's API, I created an interactive map that displays detailed information about bird sightings anywhere in the world. Users can choose to view all recent birds or focus on confirmed notable birds—those rare or unexpected for a specific location and time of year—within a customizable 1-30 day window.

Build your own.

I open-sourced the code so you can host your own instance of the eBird Bird Sightings Map, contribute to the project, or use it as a launching point for creating your own map web app.
